About Me

Our souls are hungry for meaning, for the sense that we have figured out how to live so that our lives matter, so that the world will be at least a little bit different for our having passed through it. . . . What frustrates us and robs our lives of joy is this absence of meaning. . . . Does our being alive matter? Harold S. Kushner in "When All You Ever Wanted Isn't Enough

Problems with Christians and Christianity -Written By Mike

Why is it that Christianity is one of the most criticized and rebuked "religions" out there? I think it comes down to 2 simple main points that we are contributing to our own downfall.

1. First of all, why is it that Christians are so hypocritical? Sure they will sit in church every Sunday, even go to Sunday school, and throw those corny and pointless (I think they are completely fake and just for show) amens in the middle of a sermon. Yet after all of this they are so quick to cut someone else down instead of lift them up, and when you try to point it out to them they say soemthing like "but they really are messed up" or soemthing liek that. So what...everyone has their problems. It makes me so angry to hear "Christians" talking about people behind their back and tearing them down...Don't think I am trying to prach I am guilty of this too. Where is the love? "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.

Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."-- Mahatma Gandhi . There is our prolem, Christians are fake and to concerned with personal gain and they try so hard ot see jsuth ow close to the world they can be with out actually crossing the line. If christians would live like Christians are actually supposed to inagine the turn around that the churches would have. People wouldn't et run off from churches etc. and poeple would jsut care for other people in general.

2. Why is it that churches focus on getting high attendance? I think that is the wrong focus(not htat I am against inviting people to church). I know they say "well the more people that hear the gospel the better" although I am not agaisnt spreading it, I think we need to refocus. First of all someone isn not oging to accept a belief system that so many people attack and have all of the "theories" against it "proving it wrong". Christians need to step up and defend themselves and their beliefs. If Christianity could end all of the rediculous agruments against it, I bet it would be one of the fastest growing "religions", well that and end all of the hypocrisy. I don't think I am perfect or anywhere close by anymeans, these are just observations I have made.

So maybe if we could end all of the hypocrosy and instead of spending all of our time just preaching the Bible and actually apply it to our lives and live by it things would be different. It kills me when people makes excuses for what they do. We need ot tkae responsibility for our actions instead of making excuses. CHristians need ot wake up and stop screwing around, if we are going to say we follow Christ then act like it.
