About Me

Our souls are hungry for meaning, for the sense that we have figured out how to live so that our lives matter, so that the world will be at least a little bit different for our having passed through it. . . . What frustrates us and robs our lives of joy is this absence of meaning. . . . Does our being alive matter? Harold S. Kushner in "When All You Ever Wanted Isn't Enough

A True Relationship (my opinion) -Written By: Mike

I think today in American relationships are just a joke. People date around until they "find the right one" (or the one they settle for below par). Of course you have to give it your all in every relationship so you gotta have sex according to societies standards, you have to engage in all of the customary interactions if you are dating, pointless caressing, over the top clinging and of course stupid silly flirtatious personalities.

I think that if you just get busy with your life, focus on self improvement, don't distract yourself with pointless social interactions "oh let's go to a party and get wasted yeah that sounds awesome..." and just do what you are supposed to do you will find all of the right people in the right timing.

You shouldn't have to pursue people, or cater your personality to be silly etc. You will find the true friends when you find people working to the same goal, significant other included. Why waste your time going out of your way and stealing your time for pointless pursuits of a serious relationship. Just wait and you will find the right one and it will require no effort for you to be happy together.

“Realization” -Written By: Mike

Realization Vote Democrat. Vote Republican. Get a fancy car and a big house. Live the American dream. Get a boat. Strive to be rich. Drink beer. Do drugs. Sex sex sex and more sex.
Watch porn, it's adult entertainment. Vote. Your opinion matters. Get this new fancy cell phone that does more things that you could ever need. Go to movies. Have a lot of meaningless relationships. Get health insurance. Buy car insurance. Buy health insurance.
Go to Hawaii for vacation. You deserve a vacation. You just have to have these fancy clothes. Redo your kitchen. No, redo your whole house. Get money. No get more money. I need more money. I have to have more money. Watch your empty humor on comedy central. Listen to a pathetic excuse for music called rap. The more simple minded the better. Listen to Lady Gaga. Envy famous peoples lives. Get a hobby. Go to the tanning bed, no one likes people that aren't tan. Go to the super bowl. Have a favorite sports team. Watch the news on how corrupt the world is. Get angry when you don't get what you want. Argue over insignificant things.
Buy this wonderful makeup. You have to have this jewelry. You only have 10 pairs of shoes? You just have to have 10 more. You need this 100in flat screen TV. Don't pass up this million dollar car. Have a favorite team. Get a lake house. Get everything you can.
Americans...what is it with you people. You are so distracted and so blind to see the big picture. We are like sheep, dumb, that can only see in 1 direction. We are so blind trying to fulfill all of your simple desires. We are had. We are under the thumb of corruption and greed but we are too obsessed with that shiny toy or ring that we just have to have. We are blinded by politics, they are vile greedy pigs that run this country.
They do not care about you or me they just want the green paper to shove in their pockets, they want power and control. They want you to stay blinded by the stereotypical "American dream" so they can continue to have their way. Go to the super bowl. They love your silly motives blind you so we can have more money more power. They continue to portray this on the television , the media or any way they can. They want you distracted by life, they are leading you where ever they want you to go and we are too blind.

“A LETTER FOR YOU” -Written By:Ruth

Over the past few years I have kept a collection of letters that I have written to my future husband..Ones that I will give to him after our wedding..It’s been a great way for me to express myself when lonely..and my loneliness reaching it’s peak I decided to take my most recent one from the box and post it…It’s cheesy, it’s simple, but it’s me.
Dearest,
Another day without you here..It only gets more and more exciting..thinking of our future together..It’s almost here..but yet it’s still so far away..Every morning I wake up, look to my side, and think of you…and how you’ll fill that empty space someday..In a way it’s almost a joy to spend it alone..thinking of you…instead of with a “lover” of the moment…Just know I’ll be thinking of you..and the joy we’ll spend together…I can’t wait..to see your face..to tell you everything that’s on my mind..and show you how I’m here..for you…and only you. I’m savin’ everything I can..I pray you are too

This letter is dedicated to you..I hope you’re thinking of me
“I can’t see down the road..but it don’t matter..as long as I Got You”

The True Beauty -Ruth's

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty. You should be known for the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.”

… It is not something tight fitting. It is in the heart.”

"Why Waiting Means Trusting Him"... Written By:Ruth

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding...In all your ways acknowledge him and HE will direct your path...(Proverbs 3:6)

One of the hardest thing to do it to wait and be patient. Life is so complicated and all we want is to get the things we desire in an instant just like a "microwaving a popcorn in minutes". Patience. It’s a tough word to swallow. Christians everywhere jokingly warn each other, “Don’t pray for patience! You’ll get it!” And we’ve all heard the joke,” I prayed for patience but I’m just not getting it fast enough!” Funny or not, it’s true that we are all impatient by nature. I'm learning this more and more as i go through my journey in Life.

Honestly, there's just so many questions i've been asking and praying before God for a long time, that until now He doesn't even seem to care about it. I’d like to think that I'm a decently patient person. I get anxious about things, of course, but overall, I understand that "good things come to those who wait" and that usually, the end result is well worth the time spent. Why is patience so hard for us? Why do we want what we want, right when we want it? Why can’t we be content to sit back and trust the Lord’s timing over our own anxiety and urgency?

I believe it all goes back to control. Having patience means surrendering control of our lives to Jesus, the ultimate Timekeeper. It means saying “I’ll wait for You, Lord, because I trust You.” And that’s hard to do. It’s difficult not knowing what will happen. We live in a world that operates by plans, lists, details, and organization. How can we plan or make a list or organize if we don’t know what’s coming? If we don’t know what to expect?

It’s simple: we can’t. That’s where trust comes in. And you can’t have trust without first surrendering control.

Let go? Let Jesus truly take full control of my life? But what if His plans don’t match up with mine? What if He doesn’t want the same things for me that I’ve desired my entire life? How can I trust that? How can I know He won’t lead me astray?

Good questions. And I realized something recently while thinking about this dreaded little word "wait". A vivid image popped into my mind that I’d like to share with you.

Have you ever been blindfolded? Silly exercises on the surface, but deep down, they taught us how to build trust and become better teammates. The entire point was to learn to trust my teammate's voice and instructions. If he said "go right", I moved to the right. If he said “turn around”, I’d take baby steps or giant steps according to his commands. I did whatever it took to get through the obstacle without seeing. I literally had to blindly trust my partner, who saw the whole picture. It's a lot like that in our spiritual lives.

We, as Christians, are blindfolded. We can't see the entire picture. Our view is limited, and we're stumbling around, confused as to which direction we should go. And unfortunately, more often than not, we tend to ignore the voice of our Lord instructing us to safety. To success. To fulfillment.

How will we ever know where to go, or worse yet, where not to go, if we don't listen to Him? We'll never cross the finish line by stubbornly insisting we can manage on our own. God sees the entire path before us. He knows what's coming, what has been, what is, and still has a plan for each one of us. As Christians, we have to trust that. Whether that means waiting, walking, crawling, taking baby steps, running, etc.
Are you listening to the voice of our Savior today? I am. I'm going to keep waiting and keep trusting. And when I hear that still small voice instructing me to walk, I'll do so boldly and with confidence that I am on the right path.

It will be worth the wait.

Waiting For God's Best...Ruth's

Everyone longs to give themselves completely to someone, to have a deep relationship with another, to be loved thoroughly and exclusively. But to His child, the Lord says: "No, not until you are satisfied, fulfilled, and content with being loved by Me; with giving yourself totally and unreservedly to Me to have an intensely personal relationship with Me alone, discovering that only in Me is your satisfaction to be found.Only then will you be capable of the most perfect relationship that I have planned for you.
"I want you to stop planning, stop wishing, and allow Me to give you the most thrilling plan existing… one that you cannot imagine (Proverbs 3:5-6).I want you to have the best. Please allow Me to bring it to you.

"You just keep watching Me. Keep experiencing the satisfaction that I am. Keep listening and learning the things that I tell you. Just waiting-that's all."Don't be anxious. Don't worry. Don't look around at all the things others have gotten or that I have given them. Don't look at all the things you think you want. Just keep looking up to Me."And then, when I know you are ready, I'll surprise you with a love far wonderful than any you would dream of.

You see, I'm working at this moment to have you both ready at the same time. Until you are satisfied exclusively with Me, and the life I've given you, you won't be able to experience the love that exemplifies your relationship with Me."Dear one, I want you to have this most wonderful love, I want you to see in the flesh a picture of your relationship with Me, and to enjoy materially and concretely the everlasting union of beauty, perfection, and love that I offer you with myself. "Know that I love you utterly. Be satisfied in Me."-

Purpose in Existence -Written By Mike

There is one thing that the human mind will never understand,at least it eludes me, that is purpose in existence. No matter how you look at existing, from a human perspective, there i no purpose what so ever.

Humans see purpose in items such as a car to go to work, a job to make money, money to buy food etc. All of the purposeful items do have some function but in the big picture it is just a never ending provision of purpose to something else. Take a step back though. Purpose in human perspective is that purpose is something that does some function, car to drive to work, dishes to eat etc. What about existence though? Our existence is completely purposeless from that stand point. We will fulfill no function by existing. Even if there was a purpose we would want to know what the purpose of that purpose was or at least I would. So purpose is actually a man made concept just like time. Time does not exist, it is simply a measurement to make life more convenient. Life would be chaotic with out it and impossible to plan things.

So your Life Sucks??? -Wirtten by: Ruth

I was feeling kind of “BLAH” for the past week after all the hassle and bustle of the toxic exams. So yesterday, I decided to treat myself with some delicious chick-fil-A (Didn’t mean to endorse though, but it’s really good). And it’s been a while since I last had one…Inside the fast food house, a seemingly exhausted public truck driver entered the door, which caught my attention. He was a big guy, with his forehead and face frowned, playing with his keys and a stick of cigarette, he went immediately in front of the line adjacent to my table. While waiting for his order, he says in a moderately-sarcastic toned voice: “Eat, drive, eat… then drive again! OH THIS LIFE SUCKS!!!The food almost burst out from my mouth. I could not help myself to smile and utterly nod on what I’ve just heard. I was thinking at the back of my head; “Poor driver, this man definitely needs a break”.But on my way home, as the ambiance of lights we’re flashing from the road of 301, and silence taking place. His words suddenly lingered in my head once more…..I realized that there is truth beyond the humor of his complaining statement. Many times we feel Fed up with life and we are all trapped.Sometimes we feel we are stuck being who we are. We struggle to change ourselves, but the result has so little effect. We can change what we do, but sometimes we cannot change who we are.Or think about just how we live every day,It’s basically the “same old same” isn’t it? You wake up in the morning, eat, school, work, some other things then sleep. And the next day will repeat the same thing all over again. Although this cycle is actually for those “fortunate people”. Others have a routine that’s “purely labor” day and night and a little or no sleep at all. Just like the truck driver I’ve mentioned earlier.Worse, is when we feel sick and tired of this “rat race”. You struggle with all these problems year after year, and you're getting nowhere, and you wonder if anything will ever change. And the unavoidable reality of it all is that, for you, Life sucks. The point I want to make is that if you think you’re stuck in this cycle forever, and that your life is not changing, Well you got it all wrong. The only constant in life is CHANGE. It’s true that our lives are one big cycle with a beginning and endpoint. We are on the journey of endless change. Or what we called the journey of life.Life is one huge roller coaster with many ups, downs, hoops and loops. The ups of life, which are those moments of peak happiness, are great and amazing moments. They come inevitably or unexpected and can rarely be forced. I’ve had some days and moments of peak happiness where I can say were the best and unforgettable moments of my life.On the flipside I’ve also had moments where I felt extremely exhausted bad and just wished the ground would open up underneath me and swallow me up. Those are the downs of life and they also come inevitable and unexpectedly out of the blue.Take the analogy of life being a journey in an off road vehicle. You don’t know where you are going but you head off in a direction and keep going. Sometimes the road will be perfectly smooth and visible, other times there will be bumps and humps along the road, and you hardly see anything. There will be times when you have a dead-end and need to reverse because otherwise you will drive off a cliff and cause accident. Like wise, according to an inspiring quotation written by Bob Moawd he states that:
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is yourown. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The giftis yours it is an amazing journey and you alone are responsible forthe quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
Sometimes you will make huge progress in short period of time and sometimes youwill take ages to achieve what very little simple things that matter. Don’t get frustrated when you don’t make progress or when the ride is bumpy and rough, it’s all part of the journey. Embrace it with acceptance and keep moving on.
We are all human and it is good to feel for something we care about.-OUR OWN LIVES.
But, what we don’t realize is that-LIFE IS ALL ABOUT YOU, and how you treat it.
If you criticize it, you are actually criticizing yourself. You like it, you hate it? Well it’s all up to you.
So be careful how you describe it.

Problems with Christians and Christianity -Written By Mike

Why is it that Christianity is one of the most criticized and rebuked "religions" out there? I think it comes down to 2 simple main points that we are contributing to our own downfall.

1. First of all, why is it that Christians are so hypocritical? Sure they will sit in church every Sunday, even go to Sunday school, and throw those corny and pointless (I think they are completely fake and just for show) amens in the middle of a sermon. Yet after all of this they are so quick to cut someone else down instead of lift them up, and when you try to point it out to them they say soemthing like "but they really are messed up" or soemthing liek that. So what...everyone has their problems. It makes me so angry to hear "Christians" talking about people behind their back and tearing them down...Don't think I am trying to prach I am guilty of this too. Where is the love? "I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians.

Your Christians are so unlike your Christ."-- Mahatma Gandhi . There is our prolem, Christians are fake and to concerned with personal gain and they try so hard ot see jsuth ow close to the world they can be with out actually crossing the line. If christians would live like Christians are actually supposed to inagine the turn around that the churches would have. People wouldn't et run off from churches etc. and poeple would jsut care for other people in general.

2. Why is it that churches focus on getting high attendance? I think that is the wrong focus(not htat I am against inviting people to church). I know they say "well the more people that hear the gospel the better" although I am not agaisnt spreading it, I think we need to refocus. First of all someone isn not oging to accept a belief system that so many people attack and have all of the "theories" against it "proving it wrong". Christians need to step up and defend themselves and their beliefs. If Christianity could end all of the rediculous agruments against it, I bet it would be one of the fastest growing "religions", well that and end all of the hypocrisy. I don't think I am perfect or anywhere close by anymeans, these are just observations I have made.

So maybe if we could end all of the hypocrosy and instead of spending all of our time just preaching the Bible and actually apply it to our lives and live by it things would be different. It kills me when people makes excuses for what they do. We need ot tkae responsibility for our actions instead of making excuses. CHristians need ot wake up and stop screwing around, if we are going to say we follow Christ then act like it.

God is mean? -Written by: Mike

Why do people say God is some terrible being, if he exist? They always say why would such a great and loving God create sickness, suffering, death and pain. I have been thinking about this for the past few weeks and I think I have come up with a interesting point of view. So, why would an all loving God put so much suffering in the world? I think it comes down to 2 things. First of all in the beginning, in the garden of eden, everything was perfect. No sin had mared creation, except Satan rebelling against God, but the earth was perfect. So initially there was no pain no suffering and disease. It happened when man chose to sin and eat of the tree of knowlefge of good and evil. In that instant, their eyes were open to what sin was, they believed the serpents deception and went against God's commanment not to eat the fruit. So God did what he promised, he cursed man, the earth and the serpent. The man would always have to work and labor for food, it would no longer be just in reaching distance. Woman would have extreame pain in child birth and also disease and other forms of suffering would be caused. Lastly, the serpant was cursed to crawl on its belly(which explains the legs that snakes have that evloutionst want to say is proof of evolution. Evolution is just ignorance but that is a different subject) So God didn't jsut all of the sudden decide to be the bully with the magnafine glass and make us ants, he jsut fufilled a promise. He said they would surely die if they ate from the tree.

Another interesting idea to consider: If everything was perfect, and adam and eve could not sin, would we truely have free will? If all you knew was goodness and perfection would you really be able to have freewill? IAs soon as Adam and Eve were banished from the garden I think the whole situation changed in a sense of freewill. Even though life seemed bad with deisease and suffering they would have to choose to have fait in God and believe in Him or you could choose to be like alot of peopel and say "God is not a loving God, He is hateful and created all of the bad stuff in the world". God didn't create sin, he just gave us freewill and we chose sin. You can tell how well we are doing with it too. People are sinful and the lack of morals in nowdays society disgust me. We got what God promised would happen. People need to stop being harsh and bitter about disease, I know it is terrible and causes alot of physical and emotional pain but you have to realize that it is part of life and I believe it comes with having freewill.

Self Improvement -Written by: Mike

Self improvement is something one should seek daily. Always analyze yourself and who you are, your faults and your attributes. Never be satisfied with where you are standing at in life, if you are not moving forward you are going back. You should dwell on your motives, what drives you, why you do the things you do, ask yourself are you where you need to be in life. Are you who you need to be and to me most importantly focus on your flaws. I do not believe we will ever reach a point where we can say we are what we need to be but that it is a continual process of self betterment. At least try to improve one aspect of yourself ever day and you will be on the path of becoming a complete person.

It makes you have a subject...-Written By: Mike

Live life to the fullest, take everything in. If you spend your whole life to afraid to do something, what have you accomplished? You can't say what if this happens or what if that happens. You just have to do it and learn from experience and move on. Yeah, you might end up regretting a few things along the way but at least you are learning from them. You are moving forward. You can't let fear hold you back, if you spend your whole life saying to your self "What if someone thinks this of me", "What is someone thinks that of me" or "what if I mess up"...Who cares what they think and even if you do mess up, get up dust yourself off and keep going. If you don't have confidence in yourself you are cheating you out of too much. I think I would rather live with regret about a few mistakes that I did make and learn from them instead of always thinking..."I should have done this", "Why didn't I at least try that"Read more: http://www.myspace.com/skootdizzle/blog#ixzz0xG8O0FcD
